Spotlighting A Cardinal

Here is a fun technique to try....

Stamp your image on the front of your card base then stamp the image on a second piece of cardstock.  Use a die, punch or die cutting machine to cut a circle out of the image and simply color that one with your Copic markers, Chameleon pens, water colors or any other medium you like.  Now place it in its exact spot over the uncolored card front image, popping it up on foam dimensional to really make it stand out.

Canadian Pacific Rail Holiday Train 2005

This is a layout to celebrate what has become a tradition for our family, to go see the CP Holiday Train as it makes its way across Canada every year, raising money for the local food bank etc.  The money raised in each town stays in that town so it is great to go donate!

I used the Treasure Box Designs file Polar Bear Express (on page 3 of the $1 category) which you can purchase for just $1!  You will receive the .svg format so it can be used in both Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and with the new Cricut Design Space for Cricut Explore!  The file comes with 4 train cars but I wanted more so that the train would span both my pages so I simply cut a few extra and changed how the bear sits atop so that each car/bear looks different.  It was very easy to do!

The papers used were from an older Close To My Heart Workshop On The Go called Believe, however the current 'Christmas' themed kit, Yuletide Carol, has very similar coloring.  You can purchase just the paper pack or the Workshop On The Go (which includes some great 'bling' and a very nice stamp set), the Compliments sticker images & journaling card set and the bling Assortment set as well.

I also covered the snow using my Wink Of Stella Clear brush pen to give the snow that glittered look without all the glitter and glue mess and the bears eyes and noses were covered with CTMH Liquid Glass to make them shiny!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Have a SCRAPtastic day!
