Just Horsin Around in Aruba

Hi Everyone!

Another layout with products from Close To My Heart and this time it's the Workshop-on-the-go Footloose but sadly it is now unavailable.  I loved the color scheme and it suited the colors in Aruba too.  A few of the embellishments are also from a Carnival Scrapbook At Sea kit.

I really love the distressing on these last few projects, which rather than inking everything to give it a 'grunge' look, I actually sanded the paper which reveals this wonderful white edging that to me, look like sand!  Of course this only works with white core papers, of which the paper offered at Close To My Heart is and you can also find other brands like Black Magic from Core'dinations, where the cores at the center are many different colors, not just white.

I also colored these thin wooden shapes with first a coat of CTMH Create-a-shade pearl paint then just sponging dye ink on to give it beautiful, sea-like coloring.

The turtle and the sea horse are done with the rock & roll technique.  Working from your lightest to darkest inks, I covered the entire stamp with Creme Brulee, then literally rolled the stamp up on it's edges with Sorbet, then using a sponge I added a round of New England Ivy.  I only had to sponge because I was using three colors, if you are only using two just cover then roll the edges in your darker ink.  Be careful not to put a stamp or sponge with dark ink to a lighter ink pad as it may be ruined if contaminated.

The new Close To My Heart Alcohol Based Markers

Hi Everyone!

Close To My Heart jumped on the Alcohol Based Marker's Bandwagon and came up with this great new product.  You have heard of Copic Markers, Spectrum is another brand and these new CTMH Markers are the same, allowing you to color images without those pesky line marks of a dye ink marker and you can blend and blend different shades of the same color family to add shadows and depth to your images.  My husband sells Close To My Heart and sent this video to me as I was curious about investing in these newest CTMH markers as I already have all of the dye ink markers, and I thought I would share this video with you in case you were having the same questions plaguing your mind too.

If you have any questions please contact my husband Greg at allaboutctmh@gmail.com

There’s A Floating Bridge in Curacao!

Hi Everyone!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I have another layout from our April cruise vacation.  This layout is from the CTMH Surf's Up Workshop_on_the_go!  This is the additional layout instruction that you find online here!  After completing the layout which comes in the kit, this additional layout as well, I still had enough product to make 5 A2 cards 4.25x5.5  The only thing I had left was 1 12x12 sheet that I can use on another layout.  I love these kits because you get some great crafting mileage but you don't receive so much stuff that you begin to tire of working with it and don't forget, in every workshop you get a full sized acrylic stamp set to use in future projects!  Highly recommend this one!  BTW, the 'caribbean cruise', the sun with palm tree and the glittered sun actually came from a Carnival Scrapbooking at Sea kit, that you can only purchase while aboard your ship, in the photo shop.

There’s A Floating Bridge in Curacao!
There is so much uniqueness in Curacao and we just loved the time we spent there!  Sint Ana Bay separates the Rif Fort and Water Fort in the town of Willemstad, Curacao. It would take boat after boat to transport all of the citizens as well as tourists Willemstad sees in a day. To allow easy access for those wishing to cross the bay and for ships going up and down the harbour, they built this pontoon bridge called the Queen Emma Bridge, known by the locals as ‘Swinging Old Lady’.  It is so much fun to watch the bridge move in and out of place, and also fun to stand on the bridge to get a great view of the colorful buildings lining both sides of the bay.  Another ‘paradise found’!  Courtenay and I were so excited to find a ‘Pandora Charm Store’ selling only Pandora!  and of course we had to buy some!

Just Beachy

Good Day Everyone!

Another layout to share with you!  This layout is using the CTMH Surf's Up Work-shop-on-the-go!  The title 'Just Beachy' including the palm tree is from Silhouette Online Store and designed by PPBN Designs

Journaling:
On April8, 2013 we docked at Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos.  Our excursion for this port was snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays.  The water was so warm and the color of a turquoise gemstone.  Courtenay loved being in the Caribbean but missed her sweetheart Shawn back home so she wrote a message in the sand for him and asked me to take her picture with it.  Grand Turk has so much to offer and we want to go back soon to explore more of this beautiful island!

This is the final project from the Close To My Heart Tommy Workshop on the Go  Can you believe that I made (2) double page layouts, the Bracket Frame Project and had enough left overs to make a card!  That's a lot of mileage for $29.95 and I'm thankful that when I complete a kit I don't have a lot of leftovers either, just one sheet of 12x12" and some 4x4" scraps of cardstock and a few embellishments to use on other projects.  This project also uses your Cricut diecutting machine and the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge!  If you are interested in purchasing CTMH products please visit my husband's website by clicking here!

Courtenay loves to dance so the 'Sail Away Party' was right up her ally with all of the line dancing to music played by Carnival's own DJ!  We loved to watch her face light up and hear her happiest giggles as she experienced this vacation!

Hello Adventure!

This layout was made with Close To My Heart's Tommy Workshop On The Go and the design is just one of the  two layouts that CTMH provides instructions for and inside the workshop you get the chipboard dimensional stars, canvas embellishments and a full size stamp set, so I think this is a great value for $29.95.  This layout also uses the CTMH Cricut Artiste Cartridge to cut the stars, tags, flags etc.  All of the instructions are easy to follow and all measurements etc. are given.  If you are interested in purchasing any of the products I mentioned, visit my husband's CTMH website at http://allabouthobbies.ctmh.com/Default.aspx

We took our daughter on her first cruise in April 2013.  Courtenay was turning 25, she had been such a huge help in caring for our dying Mother & Grandmother and she is starting her nursing degree education in September so this was the ideal time to thank her for being and exceptional daughter!

Courtenay was laying in a lounge chair withing 30 minutes of embarking the Carnival Freedom and spent much of her time enjoying the sun and warmth, quite the change from our home in Cranbrook BC Canada.

Bracket Frame Project

Hello friends,

Today I would like to share with you a project I completed today.  This is a 3D shadow box frame from Close To My Heart item Z1797 which you can purchase from my husband's CTMH business.  I know, I'm the scrapbooking so why does HE sell CTMH?  I'm disabled from rheumatoid arthritis and the business of it all was just too much for me, especially because I love on narcotics like morphine, so now my husband sells it and I can just scrapbook for the enjoyment, when my body cooperates and eases my pain :)

The paper kit I used is Tommy Workshop On The Go and the workshop comes with everything you need with the exception of the CTMH Chevron Ribbon.  You will also need the CTMH Cricut Artiste Cartridge.
