Frugal tip 2 - Distress Ink Applicator Felts

Are you tired of paying $6 - $7 for 50 pieces of felt to use with your Distress Ink Applicator? Here are two things you can do:

1. Purchase the foam applicator pads as they can be washed out and reused several times.

2. Go to your local Wal-Mart or fabric store, find the bolt of white felt and ask to purchase the minimum they will cut off the bolt, here in Cranbrook it is a 6" minimum purchase. I purchase this 6" wide piece for approx. $3 and I cut the rectangles to 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" and was able to get a ton of felts to use with my applicator. Half the price for more than double the pieces...what a find!

I really love the look of piercing on a layout or card, but find that it gets over shadowed by other techniques and then just fades into the background, so I found a new look that makes it stand out better. You can really see the change where I have filled the holes with my White Signo Pen. The white is very opaque and really highlights the beauty of piercing on my project.

I will put pictures of the completed project on the blog very soon. Thanks for checking in with me :)
